Last September we were moving into our villetta and didn't make it downtown for this quintessential Neapolitan staple. However, this year I'll be slapping my 10 euro on the table for a chance to sample some of the best from around the world. Your entrance fee not only secures you a slice, but also a drink, coffee, and limoncello. The event runs 7pm to midnight and includes nightly entertainment.
And remember to cast your vote for pizzas top pie! Unlike some events where a select panel passes judgement, at Pizzafest attendees get the honor. The winners will be announced on the last day, September 21st.
If you really want to get the scoop on the 'vera' in Vera Pizza Napoletana check-in to one of their 4 workshops scheduled for 4pm September 15-18. Each day will be devoted to a different key ingredient such as the San Marzano tomato, the type of flour and grain used, Campanian buffalo milk mozzarella, and extra virgin olive oil.
